Freeform and Comedian Iliza Shlesinger to Develop Late-Night Series

By Emily Rogers | Sep 26th, 2016

Freeform has taken a bold step into late-night programming by greenlighting development on a new late-night series with comedian Iliza Shlesinger. The series will showcase Shlesinger's unique voice and her ability to reflect on current events with a fresh, comedic spin.

"We were looking for a voice that speaks to and for our audience, and we have found it in Iliza," said Karey Burke, executive vice president of Programming and Development at Freeform.  "We weren't just looking to get into late-night for the sake of it—it's Iliza's brilliantly modern take on culture, relationships, and gender politics that made her vision for a series undeniable to us."

Additionally, this past summer, Iliza premiered her ABCd original series Forever 31 on the new ABC app, which has already been ordered for a second season.

Iliza Shlesinger, Jon Thoday, Richard Allen Turner, David Martin and Kara Baker from Avalon Television ("Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" and "Catastrophe") will all serve as executive producers.

Stay tuned for more news about this and other new Freeform original series!
