Q&A:
ABC Family: Have you always loved country music? What other styles do you listen to?

Rachel: Yes! I grew up listening to all kinds of music, everything from 70's rock to 90's alternative to pop and everything in between...but country was a staple. It was something my parents really got me into, as they grew up in the south listening to country music.

Tom: I've always loved country music.  It is a genre that is all about songwriting and telling stories, which is my true passion in life. I think as a musician, it is very important to bell well rounded, so I try to listen to a little bit of everything that is out there and hope to be influenced and inspired by all of it!

Mike: Have you always loved country music? What other styles do you listen to? I have always loved country music. I love the honesty in the lyric and the fact that it is an always has been lyricly true to my life. I grew up in the country on my dads farm house and hes the one who introduced me to country music.

ABC Family: What are some of your musical inspirations? How often to you draw from personal experience?

Rachel: I'm inspired by many different things when it comes to music. Listening to other artists, I'm always drawn to lyrics first and foremost. And when I'm writing I often draw from personal experience because it can be therapeutic but also makes the songs feel much more authentic. However, there are times when writing something "pretend" is really fun, too. It let's my imagination come into play.

Tom: My musical inspirations are mainly drawn from reflecting on life- the human condition- emotions that we can't control such as love and heartache- I try to capture the true essence of what it means to be ALIVE in my songs.  My personal experiences are the gateway to learning and then writing about these emotions.

Mike: I also listen to classic rock, I think rock n roll and country music are like the ying and yang. My musical inspiration is my life, I write about it and express myself musically through it.
