event episode

With the image of Jake falling off the mountain burned into their memories, Heaven and Severin reach the top of the mountain. But they're too late. Sato has beaten them to the mirror! He orders his men to kill Heaven. Then, out of the blue, a helicopter filled with Severin's men appears to save the day.

Back at Jake's loft, Cheryl accidentally sees Karen's passport and discovers that Karen's real name is Kylie Devlin. Later, Heaven and Severin return with the devastating news. Jake is dead, and they failed in their mission.

Or did they?

Suddenly, Jake walks through the door. He's bruised but very much alive. He also has a surprise: the ancient mirror, which he stole from Sato's car. Cheryl and Otto have a surprise of their own; they tell Heaven that Karen isn't who she says she is. Instead of confronting Karen and telling Jake, Heaven decides to hold off and see what Karen is up to.

Meanwhile, Severin's been interrogating Sato, and he's made a deal. In exchange for his freedom, Sato tells Severin who Kogo's money launderer is. Her name is Sonya, and she holds the key to building a case against Kogo.

Severin sets a trap, but Sonya turns the tables. Just as she's about to be killed, Heaven says she works for Kylie Devlin. Sonya lets Heaven go, but Sato isn't so lucky: Karen kills him in an alley.

That night, Heaven looks into the mirror and sees the place where she has to go to fulfill her destiny. When no one's looking, Karen phones Kogo and tells him the location. In a matter of minutes, Kogo is on a plane, but what he finds when he gets there isn't the key to great power. Instead, he finds Severin waiting to arrest him. Severin questions him and learns the missing pieces of the legend surrounding Heaven's destiny. According to the ancient tale, a goddess came down to earth and fell in love with a young soldier. The goddess gave birth to a little girl and, having fulfilled her role on Earth, she returned to the heavens. Raised by her father until the plane crash, the little girl is said to hold great powers and to possess a special destiny.

Back at Jake's, Karen shows her true colors when she attacks Heaven and stabs Jake. She leaves Jake for dead and Heaven out cold, then kidnaps Cheryl. Jake is rushed to the hospital, and Heaven is left to carry out her destiny on her own. Having tricked Karen into revealing a bogus location to her father, Heaven prepares for her journey to the actual place she saw in the mirror. She tells Karen the real location, on the condition that she bring Cheryl and release her unharmed.

Heaven and Karen meet at an ancient altar in a Japanese forest, but that's where the niceties end. According to the legend, Heaven's blood must be spilled on the altar, and Karen wastes no time. Heaven pulls out the Whisper of Death, but Karen knocks it out of her hands. It looks like Heaven's fate is sealed -- until the Whisper of Death flies toward her, making one fatal stop in Karen's back. With Cheryl safe and her father behind bars, Heaven's mission is complete. Or is it?

Months go by, and Heaven is living a normal life as a waitress. Then, one night, she bumps into a man on the street who turns out to be Sato. Suddenly, ninjas appear and surround her. With a flick of her wrist, she pulls out the Whisper of Death. With a gleam in her eyes, Heaven is prepared for battle. Actually, she's more than prepared: She's destined.

Destined to be Samurai Girl.
