dance-punk has six heads: miss tk and the revenge

Posted August 26, 2008

What has six heads and sounds like an amped-up Blondie? It's Miss TK and the Revenge -- MTKR if you're in a hurry. Born in the dance-crazed wilds of New Jersey, the MTKR monster is out to prove the '80s should definitely live on. The six members include a husband and wife: Miss TK herself handles the singing, and that's her hubby, Ari Katz, on drums. Four more crazy names round out the band: Street Stylz on keys, J5 on guitar, Groovesteau L'ingenieur du Bas on bass, and Le Bobby Neutronique on all kinds of things. (Hmm. Something tells us those might not be their real names.)

They debuted in 2004 with "XOXO," and this year they bring us the "No Biterz" EP. Plus, MKTR's new song "Satellite" will give the "Samurai Girl" soundtrack a little '80s flavor. (Or is that flava? Whatevs.) Another awesome addition to the "SG" ST — is it just us, or does this album seem to be getting better and better all the time?
