Fez
Wilmer Valderrama moved to the U.S. from Venezuela when he was 13, so his real-life story isn't so different from that of his reel-life character on "That 70's Show." He wasn't fluent in English when he came to America, but he picked it up quickly by watching "I Love Lucy" on TV. After acting in a Spanish-language commercial, Wilmer was cast in a CBS miniseries, "Four Corners," and soon after that, he won the role of Fez.
Wilmer debuted on the big screen with the film "Summer Catch," which also starred Brittany Murphy and Jessica Biel, and he followed up with "Party Monster," where he worked with Macaulay Culkin and Chloe Sevigny. He also produced and hosted the MTV series "Yo Momma" -- and he's been "Punk'd" several times by best friend (and "70's" co-star) Ashton Kutcher. Wilmer lives in L.A. No one could pronounce Fez's real name, so they just started calling him Fez (short for "Foreign Exchange Student"). Desperately eager to fit in with his American friends, Fez tries his best to pick up on pop culture and slang, but he never really gets it. Most of the show, Fez is obsessed with Jackie and worships her like a queen, but she thinks he's below her standards. His real name and nationality remain a mystery throughout the show.
