A NEW ABC FAMILY ORIGINAL SERIES
cast
emo phillips
Emo Philips started his stand-up career years ago in the comedy clubs of Chicago. His big break came in 1984 with an appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman." In quick succession came an award-winning comedy album, "E=MO Squared"; a half-hour Cinemax Comedy Experiment; and a one-hour HBO special, "Emo Philips Live at the Hasty Pudding Theatre."
Around this same time, Emo started appearing on the "Bob Monkhouse Show," "Friday Live," and "Saturday Live" in the UK. In 1989 he was the hit of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which led to a two-week run at a West End theater, a UK tour, a Channel Four special, and a series of television commercials for Sony.
Emo had a memorable film cameo in "Weird Al" Yankovic's cult-classic "UHF" and was also seen in "The Aristocrats." Jay Leno has called him "the best joke writer in America."
In the world of animated television, Emo voiced Shannon the Bully on "Home Movies" and appeared as his animated self on "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist."
He continues to tour today, doing stand-up across the country and in the UK. Dooper is a very paranoid cat, paranoid to the point of delusion. He sees threats everywhere and concocts elaborate conspiracy theories to back them up. Dooper is a stray, and he lives in a cardboard box under the freeway.
