It's morning at the Juergenses, and Amy's practicing some Italian phrases when Ashley walks in and catches her. She's come over on a mission for George: to see if Anne's engaged to David or not. Poor Amy -- not only is she still convinced she's going to Bologna with Ben, but she didn't even know about her mom's possible engagement ... which means Anne isn't wearing that ring. So are they engaged or not?

And, though no one outside the Juergens family knows about Anne's is-she-or-isn't-she-engaged status yet, word seems to be spreading that she's pregnant. Adrian told Cindy, Ricky told foster mom Margaret, and so on. Also, Ricky's talking about getting emancipated and moving into a place of his own ... but where would he move?

Over at the Bowman house, Grace is telling Tom what she knows about George's vasectomy (or lack thereof), when she realizes he's wearing Marshall's bathrobe. She freaks out that her mom is giving away her dad's stuff. Uh, Jack had better get that sports jacket back soon, without Grace seeing. Oh, and Tom tells Kathleen about George's big lie. And suddenly, everyone at Grant High seems to know about the vasectomy.

The only person who doesn't know yet? Amy. She's busy arguing with both Ben and Ricky about her summer plans. Ben's hopes of getting away all by his lonesome may be a bit trickier now that he's found out Ricky's getting his own place. Ben's girlfriend alone at Ricky's new place? Yeah, not so hot.

A few hours later, at lunchtime, Betty drops by to bring Ben his lunch, which gets the students talking ... and catches Grace's attention. Amy tells Ben that Betty's obviously a hooker, which prompts an angry Ben to let slip the little fact that George may have been lying about his vasectomy. Uh-oh. After school, at the butcher shop, Ricky approaches Bunny to ask permission to ask Leo for more hours. While he's at it, he also admits he's jealous that Amy could take off to Italy with "our son" and Ben for the summer. Bunny points out that he's just said "our son," not "my son."

And back home, Amy confronts Ashley about what she's heard regarding George's vasectomy. Ashley convinces her it's just a baseless rumor, and Amy accepts that it's David's baby, not George's, no matter how much she wants her dad to move back so they can be one big happy family again.

Ben's not sure about Betty. And though he may lack solid proof she's a hooker, Betty's trying to make sure he won't get any. She calls up Tom to make sure he hasn't told anyone what he knows about her. She says Leo's the love of her life and she doesn't want to lose him. When she hangs up, she tells Ben she's been named "Court Reporter of the Month." But if Grace knows Leo's about to marry a hooker, Ben'll have to find out at some point, won't he? Even if Tom did say neither he nor Grace will tell anyone. Who knew Tom could lie so well?

Over at the butcher shop, Ricky wants to ask Leo for more hours so he can afford a new place, but Leo gives him something better: a free apartment to call his own! It's above the butcher shop, and it may need some fixing up (it used to be Leo's grandparents' place), but Ricky's so excited, his eyes tear up.

When he tells Adrian, she's not so moved. She's worried that, once Ricky has his own place, he won't want to come over to hers anymore. So she tries to convince Cindy to call up her old friend (OK, ex-lover) George and see if he's selling his place ... you know, going off the rumor that Anne's baby might turn out to be George's and all. Yeah, but Cindy isn't exactly thrilled about moving next door to the Juergenses just so Adrian can spy on Ricky and Amy. Well, Adrian may pursue this one on her own ... .

David, meanwhile, is giving Anne the surprise of a lifetime: a chance to move into a brand-new dream house in a different city, just the two of them ... and their baby, of course. With a guest house for Amy, if she wants to move. And all Anne has to do is put on that big ring. So will she?
