You probably know Alexa Vega best from her role as Carmen Cortez in the "Spy Kids" trilogy, but she's been rocking the large and small screens since she was four years old. She got her start as Burt Reynolds's daughter on the critically acclaimed TV series "Evening Shade." She followed that up with appearances on "Ladies Man," "ER" and "Chicago Hope."

As far as the big screen goes, Alexa's been in everything from blockbusters like "Spy Kids" and "Twister," to the upcoming independent film "The Beautiful Ordinary" and the recent HBO film "Walkout." (Not yet rated.) Her other films include "Nine Months," "Ghosts of Mississippi," "Deep End of the Ocean," "Sleepover," "State's Evidence" and the rock musical "Repo! The Genetic Opera."

Lucky fans saw Alexa perform live as Penny Pingleton in the Tony Award-winning "Hairspray" on Broadway. Wise beyond her years, Ruby was raised by a single mom who passed away when Ruby was 12. Ruby went to live with her grandparents until she mustered the courage to find her dad, David Gallagher, aka one-half of the superstar 80s pop duo "The Rockits."

David welcomes Ruby with open arms — after the initial shock of learning he has a teenage daughter wears off. However, his lifestyle as the resident singer at a hotel & casino isn't quite conducive to raising a teenager, so Ruby moves in with David's brother Patrick and his family nearby.

Now Ruby's got a real family for the first time in her life. It all feels really knew to her, and she doesn't exactly know where she fits in. Luckily she has her music to help her make sense of her new world. The only thing she knows for sure is that she's going to do whatever it takes to help her dad and her uncle get along. It won't be easy. It's like writing a really great song — she'll have to make it up as she goes along.
