mike retondo
Quite possibly the quirkiest member of the Plain White T's, Mike Retondo says chartreuse is his favorite color, maintains a truly unique blog with posts about Balinese music and monkeys and goats, rides a futuristic three-wheeled scooter (a Piaggio MP3 400), and once fronted a band called Tone Deaf George. That's Mike Retondo, bass player.
Mike, like most of his bandmates, grew up in the Chicago area. But he didn't go to high school with Tom and Dave, because Mike didn't go to high school at all. He was suffering through eighth grade when he found out about home schooling. Stay at home and learn there? Sounded fantastic to Mike. He and his brother convinced their mom to give it a try.
School wasn't his thing, but music? That's always come naturally. As Mike explains, "I started playing music about the same time I started walking." His tastes run wild, from Chromeo to Beethoven. When he's not playing or listening, he's most likely parked in front of a video game; he's an admitted video game maniac.
So, when little Mike Retondo -- future member of the Plain White T's, and absolutely one-of-a-kind person -- used to play music with his mom around the house, what was his favorite song? "Don't Fence Me In." Of course. Jenziebaby was born in Chicago on New Year's Eve, 1986. She's enrolled at DeVry University, where she's a non-Greek and hasn't chosen a major yet (though English is her fave class). Jenziebaby has cats, a job, and no sibs -- because her folks "got it right the first time." But she is in a serious relationship, so she's definitely learning something new every day.
