season one episode 11

Tyler Ford's used to the life of a starving artist. But when he happens to save billionaire philanthropist and FATBOY INDUSTRIES CEO Manservant Neville (pronounced M'nSERv'nt Neville!), he finds he may have just fallen into the world of high-paying jobs. The only problem is ... will it still leave time for his one true passion: music?

Meanwhile, VOYAGER 2 — an old NASA space probe — rockets back to Earth at an incredible speed. And, since it was sent on a one-way mission AWAY from the planet, the only possible reason it could be heading home involves aliens and the destruction of the human race. The Middleman and Wendy retrieve VOYAGER 2 and bring it back to HQ. Only, their hyper-secure bio-containment box fails and the probe explodes, leaking a contaminant into the air. HQ goes into lockdown, and MM and Dub Dub head to decontamination.

Across town, and completely oblivious to the coming total devastation of his planet, Tyler arrives at FATBOY INDUSTRIES for an interview. He goes through a series of tests, oddly similar to the ones Wendy suffered through way back in the pilot. Hmm ... .

After tough tests and a laughable interview, Tyler discusses his doubts about the corporate life with the head man himself. Manservant Neville tells Tyler that he needs someone with music in his soul. Someone who can think outside the box. Tyler could continue writing songs about saving the world and live a happy life. But, at FATBOY ... he could channel his creativity into ACTUALLY saving the world.

Tyler needs time to think on it.

Back at Middleman HQ, Ida's taking WAY too long to let our heroes out of decon. They try to get her attention, until Wendy notices they've been tricked. The video feed of Ida is just the same few seconds on a loop!

There was no bio-contaminant. It was a mechanical one — Ida's been compromised!

The pair activate an emergency protocol, which increases the size of the normally tiny air ducts to something a human can fit through. As they head toward ops, they make plans to stop whatever Ida's being forced to do.

But Ida catches on quickly and forces them out into the open. After a struggle, the Middleman uses the HEYDAR's shrink ray to make Wendy small enough to fit inside Ida's ear. Then, she makes her way through hallways filled with pipes and ducts to find Ida's reset button in the center of her brain. If Wendy can successfully reset Ida's brain, her anti-virus software will kick in and flush out the tiny nanobots that are reprogramming Ida to explode.

Wendy makes it to Ida's brain — a small white room containing only a snazzily dressed Ida sitting in an artsy chair — but she's a bit too late.

Ida's brain tells Wendy that the reset button WAS a good plan. Only, the nanobots destroyed it first. But she does tell Wendy how to ship Ida's body back to O2STK and save the city ... as well as the planet.

Too bad the clock's ticking, and there's not enough time for Wendy to get out of Ida before being zapped back to her original size. If she's zapped back while inside Ida's head — Ida's head would win.

So, Wendy takes a chance and lets the indestructible nanobots overrun her. When she's totally surrounded, she tells the Middleman to un-shrink her.

She explodes out of Ida's head, protected by a shield of now quite large nanobots. Ida's body is shipped back, and soon a new, nano-free Ida arrives to take her place.

Having saved the world, Wendy runs off to spend some time with Tyler. And when she sees him, boy, is she surprised: He's decked out in an expensive suit, sunglasses, and a nifty Bluetooth earpiece. He got the job!

So, now both of them have super-demanding, time-consuming jobs ... what could possibly go wrong?
