Russell Hornsby boasts an impressive list of TV, film, and stage credits. Most recently, he starred in the critically acclaimed film "Stuck" with Mena Suvari and Stephen Rea. He also starred in "Forgiven," which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. His other feature film credits include "Something New" (opposite Sanaa Lathan), as well as "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," "Edmund," "After the Sunset," "Meet the Parents," and "Big Fat Liar."

Russell has also made a big impression on the small screen. He starred in the series "Playmakers," was a regular on "Gideon's Crossing" (opposite Andre Braugher) and on "Haunted" with Matthew Fox. He also appeared in the TV movie "Keep the Faith, Baby" and was a guest star on "Law & Order," "Law & Order: SVU," "Grey's Anatomy," and "Girlfriends."

As popular as he is on the screen, Russell's roots are actually in the theater. He made his professional stage debut in the Off-Broadway production of August Wilson's "Jitney" and won both an Obie Award and a Drama Desk Award as part of the ensemble cast. Russell recently returned to Wilson's work with an Obie-nominated star turn in "King Hedley II." His other stage credits include "Gem of the Ocean" with Phylicia Rashad, as well as "Intimate Apparel," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Joe Louis Blues," and "Six Degrees of Separation."

When Eddie Sutton decided to move his family to Lincoln Heights, everyone thought he was crazy. His dream was that his family would finally have a home of its own. He also wanted to help the community he grew up in, where he now patrols as a police officer. But reality turned out to be a lot harsher than he expected. There have been times when he thought about packing up and leaving, but he and his family are here to stay. It isn't easy, but the Suttons are making a difference. As a police officer, Eddie walks into the line of fire every day, but as a father, he's willing to sacrifice everything for the people he loves. Eddie's a good cop, but being a father is his badge of honor.
