Kyle and Jessi know that Cassidy had something to do with Sarah's death, but they disagree about how to deal with it. Jessi wants to "convince" Cassidy to confess, but Kyle insists they find out the truth by winning his trust.

Kyle's way wins out, and they enlist Lori and Declan, who try to get information out of Jackie and Mark. All they can muster, however, is the fact that Cassidy and Latnok are very secretive. Kyle doesn't have much more luck with Nate, his new lab partner, who tells Kyle he doesn't know who Cassidy reports to.

Kyle decides to go right to source and invites Cassidy to dinner with Nicole and Stephen. He tells Jessi she can't be there, because she'll only make Cassidy nervous.
The night arrives, and Cassidy is his most charming self. The evening goes very well until ...

Jessi shows up.

She doesn't waste any time before accusing Cassidy of murdering Sarah. Cassidy denies it and counters by telling Nicole, Stephen, and Kyle that Jessi killed a hunter on her first night away from Zzyzx. Jessi is dumbstruck. She tells everyone she killed the hunter in self-defense, but the looks of horror on everyone's faces, especially Kyle's, is too much for her to bear. She runs out of the house.

Cassidy's about to leave when Kyle asks to meet him at The Rack in a half hour. When Cassidy shows up, however, Kyle's not there. But Jessi is. She threatens him with bodily harm if he doesn't confess to killing Sarah. He tells her Sarah found out about Latnok resuming Adam's experiments and flew into a rage ... and that he killed Sarah in self-defense. Just then Kyle enters, but Jessi's out of control. She yells that she's already a killer -- so what's one more murder? -- and runs at Cassidy. Kyle waves his arm and sends Jessi flying across the counter, saving Cassidy's life.

Kyle and Cassidy run to her, but it's too late. Jessi's dead. Cassidy grabs Kyle and takes him back to Latnok. He tells Kyle he'll take care of everything: There'll be no trace of Jessi. Everyone will think she just ran away. He asks Kyle to trust him, and, for the first time in his life, Kyle tells a lie.

Back at The Rack, a shadowy figure moves toward Jessi. It's Foss. He says the coast is clear, and she opens her eyes! She had only slowed down her heartbeat enough to SEEM dead. Foss tells her to go home and he'll handle everything at The Rack.

At home, Nicole welcomes Jessi with open arms. It was all a setup to make Cassidy trust Kyle enough to reveal his secrets. What's more, Kyle, Nicole, and Stephen believe Jessi killed the hunter in self-defense. It seems that, at last, Jessi has a family who believes in her.

Meanwhile, Amanda discovers a folder in Nate's room that's filled with Adam Baylin's work, including notes about the experiment that created Kyle. Will she put two and two together?
