Kyle sees Amanda and feels a definite thaw where the arctic chill used to be, but he has something more pressing than his love life to deal with first.

That is, he joins Latnok.

To Kyle's surprise, Latnok is located on a college campus and is populated by seemingly cool, happy, and normal students. Cassidy assures Kyle that Latnok is about helping society, but Kyle still has his doubts.

Kyle hasn't forgotten that Latnok saved Nicole's life, and a debt is a debt, so he agrees to stay on. He meets some members, including Jackie, a pretty girl working on ending world hunger, and Nathaniel, a guy who seems concerned only with his own ego. Kyle also meets someone he doesn't expect to see: Mark, who assures Kyle that Latnok is a cool place and tells him he can earn money from the work he does there.

It turns out that money is just what Kyle needs.

Lori finds Nicole's astronomical hospital bill and knows there's no way her mom and dad can afford to pay it. So, it's Kyle to the rescue ... again.

At Latnok, Kyle learns about a science competition offering prize money that could pay Nicole's bill. The only catch is that it starts in just 36 hours. Kyle builds a hovercraft, but Nathaniel destroys it when his back is turned. Hurt and angry, Kyle leaves, vowing never to return to Latnok again.

But he still needs the money, so he picks up the work at home. With the help of all the Tragers -- and thanks to a selfless act by Jessi -- Kyle finishes his machine. But will it be good enough to win?

At the competition, Kyle's surprised to find Mark and Jackie ready to help him. Together, they put the finishing touches on the hovercraft, and Kyle takes his place against Nathaniel, his competitor. The two start up their machines. Both climb slowly, slowly ... and then Nathaniel's comes crashing down.

Kyle wins ... and saves the day.

Back home, however, he faces a problem even he doesn't know how to solve ... Jessi confesses her true feelings for him.

Meanwhile, at The Rack, Amanda is charmed by a mysterious stranger. It's Nathaniel, and he has vengeance on his mind. .
