season two episode 22
Frannie's decided to pay back the KTs and ZBZs for the prank they pulled on her IKI float during homecoming. She files a formal complaint with Panhellenic and the IFC. The guys get off easy, with a two-week social calendar suspension starting Sunday (just in time for a weekend party!). But the girls aren't so lucky. Frannie's grudge runs deep: She wants Ashleigh expelled and damages reimbursed.
Ashleigh and Casey are walking on campus after that stunner, when Casey drops into an open manhole. She's basically unhurt, but the paramedic who treats her says she's lucky: She might have died. This news gets her thinking.
Casey's thinking so much that she forgets the Panhellenic hearing, and Ashleigh finds herself pretty much on her own. She manages to find her inner bitch, though, when Frannie taunts her before the sentencing starts. Not only have the ZBZs dug up loads of trash on the Ickies, but Ash tells Frannie that, at the end of the year when Frannie graduates, the house will implode and she'll have to carry that forever. Frannie ends up dropping the charges just before Ashleigh gets sentenced. Go, Ash!
Later, a subdued Frannie finds Casey alone at the ZBZ house. Frannie's there to say goodbye. She's finished school early and is moving on ... and she's also disbanded the IKI house. She doesn't care about getting back into ZBZ, but she hopes some of the defectors she lured away will be considered for re-admission. It's big of her, to say the least, but good riddance!
Calvin and Dale are having romantic troubles. Calvin can't sleep with Grant because they're frat brothers. Dale can't sleep with Sheila because he doesn't want to break his purity vow (and besides, that would be gross). Dale decides to get Calvin to pledge purity too. Calvin agrees at first, but when the plan falters in the face of Grant's bare abs, Dale jumps in and pretends to be Calvin's new boyfriend. The ruse works for about three seconds, just long enough for Grant to find someone else and Sheila to devise a new strategy to get into Dale's pants. Will she succeed?
Cappie, Rusty, and the rest of the guys decide to have one more blowout bash before their suspension starts. The theme? It's inspired by a painting of the end of the world that the Three Musketeers and Jordan have been studying in art history class.
Rusty's high on life. He's got a perfect girlfriend, a perfect frat, and perfect grades ... or not. Looks like he's letting the books slip. His crotchety adviser offers to help him with an all-night study session — on the night of the party. Rusty's torn. Jordan says there'll be other parties, and she's right! So Rusty hunkers down in the lab with his adviser. But he just can't do it. He ditches halfway through and shows up at the party anyway. Dale's horrified, but Rusty just says he'll worry about it tomorrow.
Max is back early! But Casey's not nearly as excited about that as she thought she'd be. She's still trying to sort out her rediscovered feelings for Cappie, especially since her brush with death. It's no help that Max is redefining the term "perfect boyfriend." Great gifts (he got her the lipstick she's been coveting), great sex — what's a girl to do? Why, confront the source of her angst, of course.
Max decides they should go to the KT party. Casey opts to meet him there and arrives early to talk to Cappie. And by "talk," we mean "pull him into a closet and kiss him." She tells him she loves him. He plays the bigger person and tells her that, even if Max isn't the right one, neither is he. He's no good for her. He leaves the closet and runs right into Max. As a shocked Max stares, Cappie makes up a lie about hitting on Casey, just to save her from having to explain, and then he runs away.
It's too late, though. Casey breaks up with Max and goes home. Rusty finds him at the party later, sloppy drunk. Max tells Rusty he shoulda stayed at the study session. In the end, he slurs, the girl is never worth it. Rusty sees Jordan across the room, living it up with her sisters, and wonders if that's true.
Meanwhile, Grant comes up to Calvin to point out that his "boyfriend" Dale is making out with Sheila big-time. Rather than try to explain or defend, Calvin just surrenders. He grabs Grant in a passionate kiss. Grant's surprised ... and willing.
Ashleigh's having a great time with Fisher, but before the night is over, she has a mission to complete. As the party rages below, she climbs out onto the roof of the KT house to sit next to a moody, broody, solitary Cappie. She basically tells him he's an idiot. Casey's going to keep breaking up with boys because — apparently, weirdly — Casey and Cappie are meant to be together. As the crowd counts down to Armageddon, Ashleigh asks him what he plans to do about that. 3, 2, 1 ... and we'll have to wait till next season to find out.
