It's Homecoming Weekend, and Casey's very excited. Evan's blueblood parents are visiting, and she means to wow them. But they can barely hide their disinterest over lunch. The only time they perk up is when Rebecca shows up uninvited — they're very impressed by the senator's daughter! So impressed, they force Evan to renege on an invitation.

Rusty's having better luck … sort of. Kappa Tau is planning to throw its big Homecoming bash, the Mt. Vesuvius Party, complete with a live mini-volcano. When the mock volcano flunks a test run, Rusty offers to fix it … but soon find that he can't.

Desperate, he decides to "borrow" the university's Atmospheric Destabilizer Module — a high-tech relic that's never been used and is slated to be destroyed. His partners in crime? Zeta Beta Zeta's Jen K. and a very reluctant Dale.

Casey decides to crash the VIP dinner and show Evan's parents what she's made of, but things don't work out as planned.

Back at Kappa Tau, Rusty and Dale hook up the Module at the party, and amid great fanfare and expectation … nothing happens. Rusty couldn't be more bummed, until … the most amazing things happen. The volcano explodes, the skies rain beer, and Jen K. tells Rusty she likes him. By the end of Homecoming Weekend, both of the Cartwright kids have had their worlds rocked — one happily, the other not so much.
