There's a reason Kelly Bishop is so convincing as Emily Gilmore: experience. She started her career as a dancer at NYC's Radio City Music Hall, and followed that up with a breakout, Tony award-winning performance as sexy, cynical Sheila in "A Chorus Line." Eventually, she started getting the "mom" roles. That was Kelly playing Jennifer Grey's mom in "Dirty Dancing," Tobey Maguire's mom in "Wonder Boys," and Howard Stern's mother in "Private Parts." As different from her liberal and outspoken daughter as a card-carrying member of the Daughters of the American Revolution can be, social-climbing Emily Gilmore thought she had everything under control -- until life intervened. While she was imagining Lorelai at debutante balls followed by a tasteful and elegant wedding to the perfect beau, Lorelai was getting pregnant, moving out, and trying to make it on her own. Now Emily has the chance to get Lorelai back, but can these two find a way to forgive?
