ashley tisdale plays the girl next door

Ashley Tisdale's so good at playing the "It" girl with a jealous streak. In "High School Musical" she's Sharpay Evans, the Barbie-perfect blonde who's envious of shy bookworm Gabriella. In "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," she plays all-American Maddie Fitzpatrick, who's always competing with her best friend, London Tipton. Even as an animated character, she's a spoiled kid sister who's always trying to get "Phineas and Ferb" in trouble.

But in "Picture This," Ashley's doing something a little different. Here's what she told the MTV website about playing Mandy: "I love the character, because it's so different than any of the other characters I've played so far ... . [S]he's not popular. She's kind of like the girl next door. She doesn't really know how to put herself together."
