Cedric Brown (Colin Firth, "Then She Found Me") has a problem on his hands. Actually, he has seven problems that are out of hand -- his kids. Their ridiculously rotten behavior has sent 17 nannies packing, leaving the widower Brown in a permanent state of distress. Then, one day, a voice tells him to hire Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"), a woman of startling appearance and even more amazing abilities. Suddenly, the Brown brood's bad behavior causes outrageous consequences of the magical kind. But can Nanny McPhee really turn them into nice little children? The biggest test comes when Cedric's great-aunt Adelaide informs him that he must be married before the end of the month, or his children will be sent away to separate homes. Desperate to stay together, the kids realize they've scared away every woman their dad has ever liked, including one he might actually love. Now, it's up to them to make things right before it's too late -- and before it's goodbye. (2005)
