about the movie
mean girls
Cady (Lindsay Lohan, "Herbie: Fully Loaded") is super-smart and totally clueless. Explanation: She's gone from being home schooled in the African bush by her zoologist parents to a typical American high school, and she has no idea how to deal.
For starters, there's about a million cliques, and the popularity food chain makes the jungle look like a petting zoo. At the top are "the Plastics," the three most popular girls in school. They include Gretchen (Lacey Chabert, "Hello Sister, Goodbye Life"), Karen (Amanda Seyfried, "Veronica Mars"), and Regina (Rachel McAdams, "Wedding Crashers"), the queen bee who rules her school with a terrible sting.
When Cady actually breaks into the Plastics, she sees it as a kind of sociology experiment. But something totally unexpected happens ... she starts acting like them. Then she makes the fatal mistake of falling for the oh-so-cute and nice Aaron (Jonathan Bennett, "Lovewrecked"), who just happens to be Regina's ex. When Cady feels Regina's wrath, she finally sees the Plastics for what they really are. But is it too late?
Now it's all-out war, and before long the whole school is running wild. It's even too much to handle for cool teachers like Ms. Norbury (Tina Fey, "30 Rock") and Mr. Duvall (Tim Meadows, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story"). It's up to Cady to tame the savage beast. (2004)

lindsay lohan as cady heronMegastar and celebrity-mag magnet Lindsay Lohan had not one but two starring roles in her very first feature film. She played twins in the hit "The Parent Trap." Then came starring roles in "Freaky Friday," "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen," and "Herbie: Fully Loaded." Later, she showed her serious side in "Bobby" and some serious acting chops opposite Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin in legendary director Robert Altman's final film, "A Prairie Home Companion." Some of her other movies include "Just My Luck," "Georgia Rule," plus 2008's "Poor Things" and "Dare to Love Me." She won four Teen Choice Awards in one year: Breakout Star, Movie Actress, Blush, and Hissy Fit, as well as two MTV Movie Awards. The girl can sing, too. Her solo album "Speak" went platinum.
cast
rachel mcadams as regina georgeWord has it that Rachel McAdams is actually really nice in person. And really busy. She's set to star in the screen adaptation of the best-seller "The Time Traveler's Wife" with Eric Bana and Ron Livingston, as well as "The Lucky Ones" alongside Tim Robbins. She's also in the upcoming "State of Play" with a dream cast that includes Edward Norton, Russell Crowe, Helen Mirren, Jason Bateman, and Robin Wright Penn. Rachel probably made you cry in "The Notebook" and laugh in "The Wedding Crashers" and "The Hot Chick," and her role in "Red Eye" might make you think twice about talking to the cute guy sitting next to you on the plane.
cast
lacey chabert as gretchen wienersThe star of the ABC Family Original Movie "Hello Sister, Goodbye Life" is probably best known for her very un-Plastic-like role as the youngest Salinger sibling on "Party of Five." She practically grew up on screen, and if you haven't seen her in a ton of stuff, you've probably heard her. She's the voice of Meg on "Family Guy," Eliza on "The Wild Thornberrys," and Kaycee on "Bratz," to name but a few of her many voice credits. From cartoons to soaps ("All My Children"), TV series, and feature films, the girl has done it all. Look — and listen — for her in "Sherman's Way," "In My Sleep," "The Spectacular Spider-Man," and "Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey," starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
cast
amanda seyfried as karen smith"Wildfire" fans know Amanda Seyfried as Rebecca, the girl who was hot and heavy with Junior during his nightclub days. Before she almost stole Junior's heart, she -- like many of her "Mean Girls" costars -- got her start in soaps ("As the World Turns," "All My Children"). She was also on "Veronica Mars," just like Jonathan Bennett. Talk about a small world! And, speaking of hit TV shows, Amanda has also appeared on "CSI," "Big Love," "House," and "Law & Order: SVU." You might see her star in the feature "Boogie Woogie" with Heather Graham, and in the film adaptation of the hit musical "Mamma Mia" with Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and Pierce Brosnan.
cast
jonathan bennett as aaron samuelsJonathan Bennett, the star of ABC Family's "Lovewrecked" and "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning," has been in a slew of vehicles other than the General Lee. For instance, he's guest-starred on "Cane," "Veronica Mars," "Boston Public," and "Law & Order: SVU." ABC Family fans might also recognize him for his guest spot in the "Smallville" episode called "Blank." He likes to work behind the camera too, having produced the short film "Simply Untitled" and the movie musical "Say Cheese, Elohim."
cast
tina fey as ms. norburyTina Fey not only plays the teacher you wish you had in "Mean Girls," she also wrote the screenplay. She based it on the nonfiction best-seller "Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends and Other Realities of Adolescence." The book's not exactly a laugh riot, but Tina found a way to make the film version bitingly funny. Her other writing and acting creds include "Saturday Night Live" and "30 Rock," and she's won Emmys for both. She also stars in the 2008 parenthood spoof "Baby Mama" and wrote the upcoming band comedy "Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill."
