A member of legendary British comedy troupe Monty Python, John Cleese is comedy royalty. His long career reaches back even before "Monty Python's Flying Circus," with roles in "How to Irritate People" and "The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom." Some of his more memorable work includes the Monty Python movies "Life of Brian," "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," and "The Meaning of Life." His post-Python TV series, "Fawlty Towers," has achieved cult status, and his role in the film "A Fish Called Wanda" is the stuff of legend. He played not one, but two, different letters in a couple of Bond movies: R in "The World Is Not Enough" and Q in "Die Another Day." He's also been a regular on TV's "3rd Rock From the Sun" and "Will & Grace." And, as the voice of the King, he was actual royalty in "Shrek 2" and "Shrek the Third." As one of the ghosts who roam around Hogwarts, Nearly Headless Nick's main occupation seems to be appearing when least expected. Slightly testy and always quick with a quip, he's the Gryffindor House ghost, so he's special to Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Nick tends to lose his head at times -- well, almost -- due to a botched beheading that resulted in his ghost status.
