the cutting edge 3: chasing the dream
Zach Conroy (Matt Lanter, "Heroes") and Celeste Mercier (Sarah Gadon, "Ruby Gloom") are the hottest couple on and off the ice until a nasty spill knocks Celeste out of competition. With their dreams of gold medals put on ice and their romance chilling as a result, Zach has to find another partner for the championships in Paris. And fast.
In glides Alejandra "Alex" Delgado (Francia Raisa, "Bring It On: All or Nothing"), a beautiful, tough-talking hockey player with fierce moves and a fearless skating style. Zach's willing to give her a chance, but his coach, Bryan (Stefano Colacitti, ABC Family's "Beautiful People") quits in a huff to train Zach's biggest rivals, Cindy Halgyord and Jason Bright (Stephanie Valois, and Ben Hollingsworth, "DeGrassi: The Next Generation").
That leaves Zach with a newbie partner and no coach – until he convinces former figure skating champ Jackie Dorsey (Christy Carlson Romano, ABC Family's "Cutting Edge II: Going for the Gold") to step in. She puts Zach and Alex through their paces, but the hardest trick of all is keeping them focused on practice and not on each other as they bicker and struggle with a growing attraction both on and off the ice. Jackie knows these kids are fire and ice, and sees the chemistry between them. She also knows that if they can get it together, they'll set the skating world on fire. That is, if the heat between them doesn't cause a total meltdown.
With the competition fierce and the stakes higher than ever, the only way Zach and Alex can win is by putting aside their feelings and pulling out a secret weapon: the deadly "Pamchenko" jump. But is it worth the risk? Can Zach rise above the past – and his history of injuring partners? And can Alex prove that she's got the moves to match her passion?
It all comes down to the biggest moment of their lives … when they learn that sometimes on the ice and in life you've got to risk it all.

She was also in "Cadet Kelley" with her "Cutting Edge III" costar, Sarah Gadon. Next up for Christy are the movies "The Legend of a Secret Pass" and "Movin' In."

Stephanie is a real-life competitive figure skater, and "Cutting Edge III" is her first film role. She and her skating partner, Jonathan Boudreau-Beland, represent Canada in competitions around the world. They recently competed at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia.

benjamin hollingsworth as jason brightAs Jason Bright, Ben Hollingsworth plays the ultimate competitor -- the one guy who could stand in the way of Zach winning it all. Probably best known for his role on "DeGrassi: The Next Generation," Ben has also appeared on shows like "Heartland," "Lovebites," and "Mayday," and in the TV version of "The Music Man." Ben is also active in the theater and won the 2007 Robert Merritt Award for his portrayal of Lance Corporal Dawson in "A Few Good Men" by Aaron Sorkin.
