Britney Allen (Hayden Panetierre) has the perfect life. She's the most popular girl at the super cool Pacific Vista High School. She's captain of the cheer squad. She's dating the quarterback. And she's this close to being crowned Homecoming Queen. And then, all of a sudden… her life sucks. Her family moves out of posh PV and into a rough neighborhood and she has to transfer to Crenshaw Heights High School. Worst of all, she's vowed to her squad, including new captain Winnie and her best friend Amber (Marcy Rylan, Cindy Chiu), never to cheer again.

Crenshaw Heights is completely hostile territory, with the three main cheerleaders, led by squad captain Camille (Solange Knowles-Smith), making it clear that she doesn't belong. Then Britney goes to the cheerleading try-outs and proves what she's got to everybody, including Camille and a cute guy on the squad named Jesse (Gus Carr). Suddenly, Britney has to make a decision: cheer for her new school or uphold her vow to her old friends. Everything's at stake. Her friends. Her boyfriend. Her love of cheerleading. And then the stakes get even higher…

A call out to the best cheerleading squads in the city to audition for a spot on pop star Rihanna's TV special pits Pacific Vista against Crenshaw Heights and Britney's stuck in the middle. It's all out war between the squads and only the best will be left standing. Against the pump and grind of the fiercest moves, Britney will finally have to choose and the only thing left to do is to bring it like it's never been brought before.
